Roadmap Planned
Send a Fax from ChatGPT — Planned Me Fax Too Integration
This does not work yet. A Me Fax Too custom GPT for ChatGPT is planned, not released. There is no GPT to install today, and no way to fax through ChatGPT with us right now. This page describes what we intend to build and invites beta testers to try it when it ships.
Status: in development, not available yet. This integration is in development and is not available yet. It is planned for release during the beta. Nothing on this page describes a feature you can use today. We have not published a GPT store listing, and any listing claiming to be ours does not exist.
What would the ChatGPT integration do? Planned
The intent is a custom GPT that would connect to your existing Me Fax Too account, so that inside a ChatGPT conversation you could hand it a PDF and a destination fax number and have it queue that fax on your account.
Concretely, here is the shape of the feature we are designing. Every item below is an intention, not a shipped capability.
- You would link the GPT to your Me Fax Too account once, by authorising it — the same way you connect any third-party tool to an account you already own.
- You would attach or reference a PDF in the ChatGPT conversation, give the destination fax number, and confirm.
- The fax would be sent from your company's own fax number — the number you chose during signup — not from a shared or anonymous line.
- The pages would come out of your company's shared page pool, exactly like a fax sent from the web app.
- Your role and send permissions would still apply. If an admin has not given you permission to send, the GPT would not be able to send on your behalf.
- The fax would appear in your normal fax history with the usual delivery tracking — queued, sending, delivered or failed — visible in the web app.
In other words: the goal is a second front door onto the same account, not a separate service with separate rules.
Why build a ChatGPT integration at all?
Because a lot of the paperwork that ends up on a fax is already being drafted, checked or summarised in a chat window. If you have just produced a signed PDF, opening a second tab, logging in and re-uploading it is friction. Removing that step is the whole point.
It is a convenience layer. It does not make faxing cheaper, faster on the wire, or more reliable — a fax still travels over the same telephone network at the same speed regardless of what queued it.
What would not change if this ships?
The limits of the product would be identical through ChatGPT as they are in the browser. A new interface does not create new capability.
- Still PDF only. Me Fax Too sends PDFs. It does not convert Word files, spreadsheets or images. That would not change with a GPT in front of it — you would still need a PDF.
- Still needs a Me Fax Too account with an active plan. There would be no way to fax through the GPT without an account. During the beta that means signing up and activating your free three months.
- Still needs a chosen fax number. Numbers are not auto-assigned. You pick your own number after activating, and that number is what the GPT would send from.
- Admin visibility still applies. Company admins can see all faxes sent on the company account, including any sent through ChatGPT. That is true today and would remain true.
- Same delivery destinations. Sending is limited to an operator-managed country list; during the beta that is the United States and Canada.
- No compliance claims. Me Fax Too is not HIPAA compliant, and a ChatGPT integration would not change that. Do not route protected health information through it.
When will it be available?
We are targeting release during the beta period. We are not publishing a date, because we would rather ship it late than promise it early. Until it appears in your account, assume it does not exist.
Two things have to be true before it can go out. First, account linking has to be safe: a third-party surface that can spend your pages and send documents in your company's name needs proper authorisation and a way for an admin to revoke it. Second, the send path has to obey the same permission checks as the web app, verified rather than assumed. Neither is a shortcut we are willing to take for a demo.
How do I send a fax today, while this is still planned?
Use the web app. Sign in, start a new fax, enter the destination number, attach your PDF, and send. Delivery status updates in real time. There is also Email-to-Fax if you prefer sending from your mail client.
The full walkthrough is on How to send a fax. If you specifically want to fax a PDF, How to fax a PDF covers it end to end, and How to fax from a computer covers the desktop options including the ones that are not us.
Questions about the planned ChatGPT integration
Can I send a fax from ChatGPT with Me Fax Too right now?
No. The integration is planned and in development. It is not available yet, and there is no GPT you can install today.
Where is the link to your GPT?
There isn't one. We have not published a GPT store listing, and we will not link to one until it genuinely exists. If you find a listing using our name today, it is not ours.
Would it cost extra?
The plan is for it to be part of the normal account, with pages drawn from the same shared pool. Final pricing for Me Fax Too has not been decided; final pricing will be announced before your three free months end.
Would a ChatGPT-sent fax show up in my company's fax history?
That is the intent — same history, same delivery tracking, same admin visibility. A fax sent through the GPT would be an ordinary fax on your account.
Would it let me fax a Word document?
No. Me Fax Too is PDF-only. Export to PDF first, in ChatGPT's workflow or your own.
Can I help test it?
Yes — that is the honest ask on this page. Sign up for the free beta, and you will be in the pool of accounts we invite when the integration is ready to test.
Want to be a tester when it ships?
The integration is not live. The fax service is. Start the free beta — three months, no credit card required, United States and Canada — and you will be first in line when the ChatGPT integration is ready for testing.
