What RingCentral does well

They are a real communications platform, not a fax add-on

RingCentral is a long-established UCaaS vendor. Fax sits inside RingEX alongside business phone numbers, video meetings, and team messaging. If your office still runs desk phones, an auto-attendant, and call queues, buying fax from the same vendor that runs your phone system is a legitimate decision. One vendor, one bill, one support number.

They also sell to organisations big enough to need procurement, contracts, and named account management. That is exactly what the lead form on the fax page is for. For a 300-person company with a phone deployment, a sales call is not friction — it is the correct process.

When you should choose RingCentral instead

Choose RingCentral, not us, if any of these is true:

You are replacing a phone system as well as a fax machine. We do not sell phone service. We will never sell phone service.
You need to port an existing fax number and keep it. We do not port numbers.
You handle protected health information and need a signed BAA. Me Fax Too is not HIPAA compliant.
You need to send Word documents, spreadsheets, or images directly. We accept PDF only.
You need a mobile app. We are a web application. There is no iOS or Android app.
You send outside the United States and Canada. Our beta sending list is limited to those two countries.

Seat math for an 8-person office

This is where a bundled UCaaS product and a fax-only product diverge, and it has nothing to do with the headline price.

RingEX is licensed per user. Eight people who need fax means eight licences, whether or not all eight also need a phone extension, a video seat, and a messaging seat. We cannot show you the arithmetic because RingCentral does not publish the per-user price on its fax page — you have to complete the lead form and take the call to find out. That is the honest state of it as of July 2026.

Me Fax Too includes 10 users in the company account. An 8-person office is inside that with two seats to spare, and the number you compare against is zero for the first three months of the beta. Past 10 users, the planned rate is $2.79 per additional user per month. Everyone shares one page pool and one company contact list, so adding the ninth person is an admin action, not a purchasing decision.

The structural point: with a bundled platform you buy communication seats and get fax with them. With us you buy faxing for a team and nothing else. If your team does not need the rest of the bundle, you are paying per seat for software you will not open.

Switching from RingCentral Fax

We do not offer number porting. You cannot bring your RingCentral fax number to Me Fax Too, and you cannot take a Me Fax Too number away with you. If keeping your existing published fax number is a hard requirement, stop here — this is not the product for you.

If you want to port a number away from RingCentral to a carrier that handles porting directly, look at Telnyx, which runs its own porting process. We are not affiliated with them and earn nothing from that link.

If you can live with a new number, the switch is short. Sign up, activate your free beta, choose your own fax number from the available list — numbers are not auto-assigned — and send. Then update your fax number on your letterhead, your website, your forms, and with the two or three organisations that actually fax you. That last step is the real work of switching, and it is the same work with any vendor.

Keep the old RingCentral number running in parallel until inbound traffic on it stops. That is cheap insurance and it costs you one extra month of their bill.

Is Me Fax Too cheaper than RingCentral?

During the beta Me Fax Too is free for three months with no credit card, so for that period yes. Beyond it we cannot compare, because we have not announced final pricing and RingCentral does not publish theirs on the fax page.

Is Me Fax Too HIPAA compliant?

No. We are not HIPAA compliant and we do not sign business associate agreements. Do not use Me Fax Too for protected health information.

How many users are included?

Ten, in one shared company account. Each user has a role and send permissions set by an admin. Admins can see every fax the company has sent or received, including faxes sent by other users.

What files can I send?

PDF only. If your document is a Word file or a photo, print or export it to PDF first.

Where can I send faxes?

The United States and Canada during the beta. Sending is limited to a country list we manage.
